The Enhancements in the quality of education and training in SEE – the EQET SEE project, continued its activities within the VET component  by reaching its second milestone: the development of the regionally based locksmith occupational standard.

The first step in the developmental process was the implementation of 15 national meetings in five EQET SEE economies (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo*, Montenegro, Republic of North Macedonia). The meetings were organised by VET centres, qualification agencies (QA) in the cooperation with the chambers of commerce during the last quater of 2022. The national inputs were compiled into regional proposal and analysed by the experts for social and environmental sustainability and gender equity.

The regional proposal was then consolidated and validated in the regional working group consisting of business and education experts from all EQET SEE economies. The three-day regional consolidation ended with the regional validation of the Locksmith occupational standard. The translation of the standard is available in Albanian, Macedonian and Serbian language.

The next steps for the EQET SEE regional working group is the development of the regionally based Locksmith qualification standard.
